Until Google and Microsoft stepped into the ring.
Adam Pash at Lifehacker reported earlier today on an excellent spot by a Picasa for Mac beta-tester: the inclusion of a “Move to Collection – Google Web Drive” option. Hmmm…. Sounds like the long-awaited web-based “cloud” system Google users have been clamoring for.
Meanwhile, Tom Warren reports Microsoft is set to unveil their MobileMe competitor later this month.
Finally – a little competition. If evaluating purely on business success, my money is on Apple. Not because of the iPhone or geeky Mac-lovers, myself included, but because with the competition ratcheting up, they will do what they do best; sell you, me and the rest of the world on the story. The power of storytelling in business is tremendous, and in this area, Apple has its competitors licked.
